Thoughts: I’m a Lauren Dane junkie I admit it. There have been very few books of hers that I haven’t loved. So when she announced that the hero of this book was an artist I knew I was going to love it. You see many seasons ago I majored in art history and I find artists extremely sexy. Especially Russian artist, though this could be because one of the first romance books I read was Luring the Lady by Nora Roberts and her hero is a Ukranian artist.

Gregori has become one of my favorite of Lauren’s heroes. He’s sexy and moody and temperamental, and um did I mention sexy?

Wren is a heroine who knows what she wants and is not afraid to go after it. Once Gregori changes the dynamics of their relationship she has to make a decision.

I loved every word of this book. The sexual tension and dance that Gregori and Wren go through was off the charts hot. Add in they are both very confident in who they are and what they want, just made it better. I read this book in one sitting and then went back and read it again.

If you’re a fan of Lauren’s then you won’t want to miss this book.

Title: Sweet

Series: TRUE bk 2

Author: Erin McCarthy

Sarcastic, cocky, and full of opinions, Riley is also sexy personified with tattoos and biceps earned from working as a roofer all day. Not the right guy for her even if Jessica was looking for a relationship, which she is definitely not. But Jessica knows that Riley hides the burden of having to raise his younger brothers behind that grin and as she helps him get his house in order for a custody hearing, they begin to fall hard for each other, and she is forced to question what she’s hiding herself.

Jessica has never had a problem getting naked with a guy, but when it comes to showing Riley how she truly feels inside, her fear of rejection may just ruin the best thing—the best guy—to ever happen to her…

Thoughts: Erin McCarthy has been a hit and miss author for me. I loved her Vegas Vampire's series, and didn't like her Fast Track series. So when I was sent Sweet I thought what the heck, maybe I will like this story. I couldn't have been more wrong. I didn't like the story I loved the story.

I didn't read True so I was new to this story and the people in it, and that was okay because the couple that were in TRUE were in this story only briefly.

Riley has got to be one of the best heroes I've read. He doesn't have a job saving or protecting people, he never went to college and is on the verge of losing his house. Not your typical hero material. What makes him a hero is that for him family comes first. Everything he does is for his younger brothers.

Jessica is a character that I had to warm up to because of her attitude, but once I did I really liked her. She's at a place in her life where she doesn't know what she wants other than what she currently has. Her course of study was determined by her parents, and they are very different from who she is.

Riley and Jessica shouldn't work because of who they are but they do. She doesn't take his shit, and he gets her. When he screws up, because he's a guy and it's a given he will she owns it and immediately sets out to fix it. There is so much I loved about this book it's probably easier for me to list them.

The don't immediately fall into bed and have sex. In fact this is a point of frustration for Jessica and adds some awesome angst.
Even when Jessica thinks she hates Riley she wants to help him get custody of his youngest brother.
Jessica drives Riley up the wall but when she's in need of place to stay he steps up and gives her a place.
I loved their fights, they were perfect for who they are.
RILEY, RILEY, RILEY, RILEY, RILEY.
Did I mention I love Riley. He really does it for me and he's nothing like any of the heroes I typically love.

I'm officially hooked on this series and can't wait for the next book to come out. Sweet is on my top NA reads of the year.

Thoughts: I'm not usually big on historicals, but occasionally one will catch my eye. Right away, the cover caught my attention - and after reading the blurb I just had to give this one a shot! And I did not regret a single moment of it! The story was beautifully told, and managed to be captivating, heart-wrenching, frustrating, and sweet all at the same time.

Leif and Astrid met prior to Leif's capture, and they were immediately drawn to each other. So much so that Leif decides he wants her as his own! But unfortunately, it has been decided by Astrid's uncle that she is to be married. Against her wishes, she is betrothed - and both her uncle and her betrothed have also set out to capture Leif...and use Astrid as the bait! As more and more circumstances conspire against them, can Leif and Astrid ever get past all the misunderstandings and find each other? Or will episodes from their past to come to haunt them?

Astrid was the perfect mix of the quintessential lady and fiery minx. I enjoyed her character, and how she refused to let anyone get the best of her, while at the same time dealing with her circumstances with eloquence and grace. And Leif made for the perfect Viking hero - strong, with a warrior's heart, yet vulnerable against his past and this one small, petite female. While at times I wanted to smack him for his sheer stubbornness, I also loved sympathized with his history and his vulnerabilities. I couldn't read these pages fast enough in order to see him and Astrid get their happily ever after. In fact, I flew through the pages in a matter of hours.

The only thing that really bothered me ended up happening after I was done reading the novel. Upon researching more about this great author, and searching for more about past titles and release dates for more in this series, I discovered that the author just recently passed away (July of this year). It really hit me with a wave of sadness, and I wanted to send out my condolences to her family and friends - and all of her many fans. I had just discovered her with this book - but if this is an example of her works, the writing community lost a spectacular author! I know that I intend on going back and reading many of her past works myself, and I highly encourage everyone to do the same.

To the memory of Joanna Fulford - you will be dearly missed.

I had the pleasure of reviewing the 1st book in this series and it was my first time to read Cat. Since that time I have remedied that and count her as one of my favorite authors! I love her style, her voice, her characters and she is funny as heck on Facebook!! LOL

**swoon** Logan… he’s a soldier, he’s a cowboy… we’ve seen bits of him in the first 1 and a half books. We saw Emma’s sassiness in book 1 and I loved the relationship that she has with her sister. I was eager to jump into his story. As completely expected, Cat did NOT disappoint!

This book starts as everyone is gathering for the wedding of Tuck and Becca. We got a tease of a potential Jace and Emma hook-up during book 1 and now we get to see what went on and where things could go. Lucky for Logan there’s something wonky going on with Jace and his ex and Emma has just about had her fill of waiting around.

Throw in a family emergency for Logan and the angst that goes along with that and our story takes off from there. I was torn up for Logan and the decisions that he was forced to make about his family business. But it was so heartwarming to see his friends step up and offer the support that he needed. I love that Emma put herself out there and was not afraid to reach for what she wanted! (although she had great incentive to see where the relationship with Logan could go)

As always we got our smoking hot love scenes and our laugh out loud moments that we have come to expect from Cat Johnson. And I got to better know and love all the characters that make up the Oklahoma Nights family. Tucks’ brother Tyler could have stolen the show in this one!! I feel a potential Tyler story for book 4… fingers-crossed and hint hint Ms. Johnson! As for book 3, I have it on good authority that the release will be in late March and I am eager to see how Cat weaves her magic and leads us into Jace and Tara’s story… because to be completely honest they were both pretty obnoxious in this book! LOL

I cannot wait!

It’s just one mistake, and Rain is determined to put it behind her, until the dark haired, blue eyed hottie turns out to be her new co-supervisor Knight Mcallister. Knight is hot, tatted, and carrying baggage of his own. He’s not happy about having Rain for a co-supervisor, and he’s even less happy about his attraction to her. But between lifeguard drama, hot underwater kisses, and a growing attraction between them that can’t be stopped, Knight and Rain are being pulled deeper into their pasts, and realizing that sometimes too much broken can make a relationship impossible.
Then again sometimes it’s the broken parts of us that fit together best.
Thoughts: This book was a bit of an odd read for me. It was sort of like a puzzle whose pieces didn't all fit together properly. First off, I'll start by talking about the genre. Deeper is listed as a 'New Adult' romance - which basically means it fits somewhere in between Young Adult (YA) and Adult. To say it fits 'somewhere' in there is about right....the majority of the book screams YA. The characters and the overall vibe from the story just has a level of immaturity to it. Even though both main characters Rain and Knight are late teens/early twenties, they really came across as much, much younger - at least in their mentality. Of course, there were certain aspects of it that kicked it more into the adult aspect - for example a few scenes with sexual intimacy, hints of sexual assault, rape, etc. Nothing too graphic, but still....a bit much for the standard YA novel. The bottom line is that it just didn't mesh well with the overall immaturity of the rest of it.
There was also a lot of survivor's guilt splashed throughout the pages. While I liked the idea of it and thought it could have really added something to the storyline overall, the way it was addressed just left me having trouble connecting with the story - and with the characters. In Rain's case, we are expected to feel this deep level of grief for Rain and the loss of her 'boyfriend' - but calling him that is a bit of a stretch. They simply knew each other and worked together - they were friendly, but Rain had only just accepted a initial date with him right before the accident. And she had to talk herself into that! But she's willing to never have sex for the rest of her life - to never fall in love - because she blames herself for her part in his death. Yet, Knight - who knew his girlfriend since they were toddlers - had nowhere near the difficulty she had with getting on with his life. It just didn't make any sense and was hard for me to believe, not to mention unrealistic.
On the plus side, I liked hearing things from lifeguard point of view. I was not surprised to learn that the author herself loves the water, and did, in fact, work as a lifeguard previously. Those parts were by far the most realistic aspects of the novel. It was enjoyable to get some inside perspective on lifeguarding, the hazards, the training, and the lack of recognition they get for their life saving capabilities. I believe the book would have been better served either going strictly YA or strictly adult. I would have enjoyed it better either leaving the immaturity level young and skipping out on all the borderline adult stuff - or keep that stuff and age up the characters a few years and give them a bit more maturity. Regardless, I like the authors style of writing and the lifeguard twist - it just needed a lot of work when it came to exactly which route it was going to go.

But when the news hits the media, Madison has no choice but to flee - after all, Tommy is the ideal Hollywood image of male perfection, so she gets cast as the bad guy in their breakup! And isn't that the perfect timing to meet Mr. Right?

And Leo is that....not only is he handsome, sweet, and sexy, but he's a firefighter....and the perfect man to rescue Madison from herself. Well, that...and snakes...LOL

This book is everything a Harlequin Blaze should be - creative, passionate, fun, and sexy! There are instant sparks between Madison and Leo and I enjoyed how their story unfolded. I particularly liked how the author didn't have Leo come straight from his wedding-that-didn't-happen and into an affair with Madison. There was a six month gap between his breakup with his previous fiancé and his "honeymoon". It was fun, descriptive, and engaging, leaving you with the distinct longing to go on vacation afterwards!

If you're in the mood for beach resorts, skinny-dipping in the pool, and the chance that you might find a hot, sexy, naked fireman in your room....you will definitely want to pick this one up!

Thoughts: When I saw this book posted to chose to review I really debated about reading it. First the cover didn’t really grab me, second the title of the book didn’t make me want to see what a striker was. That being said I decided to give it a try when I read the blurb. This is very much a case where the blurb really intrigued me.

I love sports heroes, and to read one where the hero didn’t play the normal sports of football, baseball or hockey and wasn’t a MMA fighter intrigued me. When I started reading it and discovered the hero was from South Africa I knew I had to finish this book.

In my house the Springboks are a huge deal. They are the South African National Rugby team. Because we follow South African Rugby I’m very familiar with the attitudes and feelings of their professional athletes, and Kepler fits the mold perfectly. When it’s revealed he won’t have a sponsor on his cleats, and instead has the South African flag I got it. When his tattoo was revealed I knew why. I loved how the author really brought the flavor of South Africa alive in Kepler in so much that he spoke Afrikaan’s.

I loved Kepler from page one, and the more we got to know him, the more I wanted him to get his HEA. His love of the sport comes through on every page, as well as his loathing of publicity. All he wants to do is play the sport. He’s grateful the team took a chance on him. But he wasn’t prepared for Holly. The more time he spends with her, the more he likes her and wants a relationship with her. But that is impossible.

Holly has landed her dream account. This is the account that will propel her business into the stratosphere. All she has to do is change the image of one soccer player. To bad he makes all her girly parts stand up and scream do me. This is something she doesn’t want. The more time she spends with him, the more she discovers he’s nothing like what the tabloids have claimed.

There was a couple of things that bothered me but not enough to have me stop reading.

I really enjoyed this story. The relationship between Kepler and Holly was believable and one that kept me reading long after I should have been asleep. If you like sports heroes, and want to read about a sexy South African Soccer player then you won’t want to miss this one.

I’m hoping we’ll get more books about the other players on Kepler’s team.

Thoughts: This novel was scorching hot!! I mean so hot that it’s a miracle my kindle survived without any scorch marks! The chemistry between Daisy and Dax was amazing, yet they still managed to have a soft sweet side that was really appealing. The author really managed to capture Daisy’s insecurities about her body after her battle with breast cancer, and maintain a great balance with it. She managed to provide a positive message in it, and really add a an extra something to the novel that puts it miles ahead of the rest.

Most of the BDSM/dom-sub books usually have alot of sex and not much real substance to them. While I don’t have a problem with it, I do prefer a novel that has a good balance between the two. And this book really manages to pull that off. Dax, while he is a “master dom”, also has a caring, sweet side to him that I loved to see peek out occasionally. Any man that is super stud material that is willing to have a “date” at a breast cancer walk-a-thon, wear a pink breast cancer awareness shirt, AND set up a fundraiser at his sex club for the cause as well -having all these people into “kink” wear pink lingerie – is so surprisingly romantic and amazing. Not to mention creative by the author. I loved it!

This book is exactly what I like to see from the more daring reads – erotic with real substance! I will definitely be keeping an eye out for the rest of the books in this series! As well as exploring more by this amazing author!

Thoughts: For some reason this book was listed as Erotica (at least in Netgalley). I didn't really see it as an erotica novel myself, more of a paranormal or sci-fi/fantasy romance. I really liked the author's unusual take on the grim reapers and how they are actually fae whose duty it is to come and harvest the souls. I thought the idea of their hand and arm turning skeletal when they sense the dead or dying was really original. I liked the development of the story, however the ending was a bit far-fetched and 'let's just make up something totally out there to achieve our happily ever after'. It was just a little too convenient.

Other than that, my only complaint is a lack of connect with the book itself and the characters. I can't really pinpoint exactly why, I mean the book was good, I just didn't get caught up in it or invested in the story like I thought I would. Again, I'm not sure why - Hall is a good writer, there are enough twists to the reapers to make it interesting, the storyline is one I enjoy, etc. It just didn't all come together for me.

I have read one other novel by Hall, and I must say out of the two I much preferred this one. Overall, a good book, but not one I was up all night clamoring to finish. But a solid read nevertheless.

Thoughts: Getting Wild is a sweet romantic story with a bit of adventure thrown in. If you're looking for an in-depth, complex storyline, it might not be quite up your alley. The book is far more focused on the characters and their interactions with each other. Is that a problem in this case? For me, it was a resounding 'No'! It worked perfectly when it came to this book. It was all about the characters. And with two such likeable ones, it was a hard book to put down.

Ella seems to have it all - she's a successful business woman, very cool and collected, never lets anything ruffle her feathers. Except for Ryan - from the word go, he gets under her skin and she can't seem to shake him from her thoughts. When it comes to their characters, Ryan is the exact opposite - he's a grab life by the balls, adventure junkie, who goes after what he wants no holds barred. And what he wants is Ella.

The author does a wonderful job making Ella strong, yet vulnerable - not to mention having Ryan say just the right things to win her over, yet still able to hold his own against Ella and come out on top. I just loved the witty banter between these two...it made for some fun reading! The secondary characters were great as well and they weren't just there to be there - they actually contributed to the storyline, and in many cases provided some much needed insight, support, or just comic relief.

This was such a sweet and endearing read, yet so engaging you don't want to put it down. Definitely recommended!

Review by Heather: I'm a huge Lori Foster fan, and as such I've read almost all of her books. That being said, while I've liked her last several books I haven't loved them. In fact I was getting ready to take a break from her books, but I'm so glad I didn't because I loved Getting Rowdy. It has everything in it that made me fall in love with books in the first place. Bad-Ass Heroes, and heroines who can and do take care of themselves.

When Rowdy was introduced in the first book, there was something about him that made me want more of him. When he first met Avery and the sparks flew between them I found myself wanting more of them then the actual hero and heroine of the book.

Because of the first two books we already know about Rowdy's soft heart, but it's really in this book that we understand the why of it.

And Avery is such a great heroine. She reminds me a lot of Luna from Just Say No Joe, one of Foster's best books. I won't say more than that because I want you to discover her on your own.

What I really loved about this book though was that the suspense wasn't a major part of the story line. It didn't fuel the relationship between Rowdy and Avery. It wasn't the catalyst for them finally getting together. It did cause a little bit of contention between them, but because Avery is no simpering miss she takes charge in way that made me laugh out loud.

This is one of her books that I will read over and over, because it is just that good.

Review by Sarah:I loved the attraction between Rowdy and Avery. I love those titles where a couple's passion has been denied for so long that it is a palpable force between them. This is definitely the case in Getting Rowdy. I loved the development of their relationship, the chemistry, and the story behind the characters. And considering I had not read the previous books in the series, it wasn't difficult to keep up with or get a connection for the characters. But it was pretty obvious that it was a book that was connected with some other characters.

There were a few things that did not ring true for me. First off, if I had just found the guy that supposedly wanted me as bad as Rowdy wants Avery - and then discovered him in his office indulging in a little bit of naughty action in his office with someone else - I think the attraction would pretty much be over. Or at least have taken me a bit longer to work that through in my head and give him another shot than it did Avery. But somehow Foster still makes it work, and she manages to pull the story back in for me. And I still managed to love Rowdy's character, so that is a credit to Foster's writing skills.

However, it seemed that toward the end things started to go a little downhill for me. Probably about the time Rowdy met her parents, it just seemed to shift a bit and lose that edge that made it special. Things seemed a little too predictable, a little to convenient. With so much drama going on I expected to be glued to the pages, but it fell a little short for me overall.

I also thought that for someone that almost had a phobia towards commitment, Rowdy seemed to accept his stronger feelings for Avery a bit too readily. I expected him to fight it tooth and nail - and to indulge in a lot of tears and emotion when it came to getting them past the 'only sex' phase and into the 'forever-after' one. But I was denied that a little in this book. But the passion and intensity in the beginning more than made up for that in my opinion, so I think things sort of balanced each other out.

Overall, a really great book with some amazing characters. Not one you want to miss out on!

Review by Heather: Lauren Dane has firmly planted herself on my autobuy/autoread list. She writes characters that fully engage all our emotions.

I’ve loved every single book in this series, and until now Coming Undone has been my absolute favorite book in the series, but this book, it is now tied with that book for my favorite in this series.

Raven has been a character I’ve tolerated from book one, however after reading Drawn Together she is now one of my favorite characters. The reason being, because we finally get the full story of this person and I have to admit now she’s one of my favorite characters. Her story is one that breaks your heart and cheer when she finally gets her HEA.

Jonah has intrigued me ever since he showed up in Cherished. I’ve wanted his story. I have to say he lived up to everything I wanted him to be. Putting his daughter before his own happiness made him that much sexier. His determination to crack the shell around Raven showed that he knew there was more to her and he was willing to put in the work to make her his.

One of the side stories I was happy was resolved was the marriage of of one of Jonah’s brothers. If you read Cherished you know who I’m talking about. And Jonah’s mom, man she freakin’ rocks. She rules her family, but they all know it’s from a place of love.

This is one of those awesome Lauren Dane books you HAVE to read, especially if you love the Brown Siblings. I will admit I really want Lauren to write the rest of the Warner brother’s stories. And I really hope Jonah’s daughter gets her story some day.

Review by Sarah: This is only the second novel that I have read from Lauren Dane. I read Laid Bare awhile back, and while it was okay for me, it didn’t really leave me panting for more. It was good, but not captivating. The blurb was what caught me into and pulled me to the story but the book didn’t live up to it for me. I don’t really know why….all the elements of a good story were there….it was original, it had a whole new take on things, the characters were interesting, etc. But somehow I just failed to fall in love with that book. So, when I came across this one, my first question to myself was – did I want to chance reading another one?

I decided to take another chance here and hoped for the best….and in this case I was not disappointed. The story itself didn’t stand out for me – but the characters did. And boy, did they stand out! I absolutely LOVE Raven….she’s strong, honest, blunt, and loyal. I loved her remark, “My goodness, I already let you see my boobies.” So funny, so real, so Raven! She’s just such an amazing character. She’s been through the fires of hell and is stronger for it. She’s tough on the outside, yet a sweet marshmallow underneath. And if you take the time to get to know her, making your way past her gruff exterior, you’ll have a friend for life. She’s been hurt in the past and she’s messed up in alot of ways because of it….but she doesn’t let it rule her life. And Jonah was a perfect match for her. He was determined yet patient, loving yet willing to push her when she needed it, and most of all he was always there for Raven when she needed it. These two will stand out in my mind for a long time to come.

I loved how Dane captured the essence of these characters. I loved the ‘realness’ of their actions and responses…and the ‘realness’ of Raven’s fears. Beyond her gruffness, she was a character that was vulnerable in many ways. And the way Jonah helped her work through some things was simply heartbreaking.

My only complaint was the mention of numerous characters from previous books. For someone not an avid follower of her books, it was a bit distracting from the story itself. I thought many of the names and characters could have been left out, as they really didn’t pertain to the story at all. Some of them actually contributed to the character building and/or the plot, but many were unnecessary. I particularly enjoyed watching Erin rip into Jonah and his brother to protect her friend. It was a wonderful scene. I want a friend like that!…:)

Bottom line – the characters are what makes this book. This book has made me do a complete about-face when it comes to other books by this author. I’ll be doing some back reading after this!

Mariah is such an obvious ill-fit for Jubilee and has big city written all over herself but Mariah keeps working her way into the lives of the residents of Jubilee, so Joe starts to wonder if maybe this big-city girl doesn’t have a small-town girl hiding inside.

The Cowboy Takes a Bride was a very cute read. The opening scene was awesome with Joe waking up in the trough and Mariah trying to figure out why someone would be in a horse trough wearing nothing but boots and a Stetson but the rest of the story was okay. Mariah was a sympathetic character and Joe’s attitude was understandable given his past history. I enjoyed the story.

One of my favorite regency historical romance authors is Stephanie Laurens. Ever since I discovered her at the library and read Amanda's book, I've been hooked on the Cynster family, and her other books as well.

When I read this this book I have to admit I had no clue what to expect. And I think it's one of my favorite books of hers.

Roscoe is a man who will do anything for his family, and in fact does. When his family faces ruin and the poor house he sacrifices himself to save them and gives up his future and a chance for the one thing he wants more than anything. His own family.

Miranda is a woman who has put her younger brother ahead of anything, and has left her aunts fear of not behaving according to societies dictates rule her life. When she thinks that Roscoe has dragged her brother into trouble she confronts him only to discover how wrong she was. So when her brother is kidnapped off the streets, she instinctively turns to Roscoe.

As they journey through England to find her brother, they both realize that feel more than lust for each other, and they end up at his families ancestral home where all of his family is currently in residence. As they spend time together at his home they both realize what they want is a family together. But the realities of their lives is that they can't be together.

I loved how these two very unlikely characters came together and discovered how they were better together and the past didn't matter, what was important was the future.

If you are a fan of Stephanie's books you won't want to miss this one. I know I'm glad I read it. And if you haven't read her before, then this is a perfect book to start.

If you have never read a Vivian Arend you need to correct this immediately. Her books are full of interesting characters and a plot that makes perfect sense for them.

This is one series I do have to say that you do need to read the first book Black Gold to understand a huge portion of what is going on with Shelly's sister Caroline.

I have to admit there was absolutely nothing about this book I didn't like. From the first page to the last I was completely engaged and couldn't put the book down.

The story of Chase and Shelly is full of interesting characters, Frank a bear, Denton a cat, and Jones a wolf to name a few.

From the moment Chase and Shelly see each other the sexual tension between them is so hot it almost set my kindle on fire. When Shelly FINALLY gives into the attraction between her and Chase all I can say is beware because it's HOT!!

I wasn't sure how Viv was going to make a relationship between Chase, a loner who lives in the middle of nowhere Yukon and Shelly a vet who lives in town, but I should have trusted that she would come up with a way to make it work.

I love the scenes between Evan and Caroline. Evan is the Alpha of the Takhini pack and Caroline is Shelly's sister but also Evan's personal assistant and lover. I'm really hoping she keeps them together as they are such an interesting couple.

If you like unique and fun shifter stories then you need to read this series because it is so unique and fun. It's definitely one of my favorites!

This book follows three years behind the last book “ Never Been Bit” Sorcha and Alex’s Book. Still taking place in Kent with Caitrin living just next door. Lucky for us readers we get to see a lot of Catrin through this book as she tried to tame Dash’s three roguish half-brother’s, She seems to be bailing them out of one problem after another until Weston gets himself into one doozy of a problem.

I think that Weston is taking top spot for my favorite L. Dare wolf. He is equal parts sweetheart and rogue, completely besotted with Madeline for the last three years; he routinely makes a complete arse of himself whenever she is around. Even as he is doing it, he can’t seem to stop himself. But when he is with Madeline, those deep buried manners seem to appear. On the other hand, he is still a reckless Hadley brother, he races, he drinks and can’t seem to turn down a bet, even when on his last penny. With Wes you get a bad boy with good intentions. I’ll take it, and him! It about breaks your heart when he is self-depreciating, he grew up knowing he was one of those “Penniless Hadley Brothers”, where on one hand it is librating; he can basically do whatever he wants and at this point no one will raise an eye brow. But, when his heart belongs in a Duke’s daughter’s hand, there is nothing he wouldn’t give to be respectable and good enough. Towards the end about killed me, I felt so bad for these two.



Lady Madeline Hayburn, has grown up knowing that she is the daughter of a Duke, that she will make a splendid match of some titled well off gentleman, but secretly she hopes for affection, if not love and mostly PASSION. You see she reads.. a lot. My kind of girl. *smiles* For three years her father has thrown her on the marriage market and not one of these titled gentleman, stir her the way that she feels that she should be. She knows these men are after two things, her connections as part of a powerful family, and her dowry; which is quite sizable. When she sees Weston, she is pulled toward him at the same time as she is scared of him, he confuses her. One thing she does know is that he will never do. What I really like about Madeline besides her sweet gentle nature and a huge heart is secretly she’s a bad girl! Oh yes, she is a closet bad girl, so closet even she didn’t know it. But as soon as Wes shows her a different way, where you can get dirty and jump out of windows, she seems to take to it and run with it. One transgression at a time she sheds a bit of the ridge, never been dirty Lady Madeline and becomes a little more Maddie a girl that can have fun. I enjoyed reading these small changes; it makes Madeline stand out a bit from some of the other females of the series. I really enjoyed Madeline as a character.
